Bentley Continental GTC Speed

Bentley has released the details of Bentley Continental GTC Speed - the latest model that become one of the most powerful convertible ever. Powered by the 6-litre W12 twin-turbocharged engine that has been tuned, Bentley Continental GTC Speed is able to outputs a massive 600bhp (610PS) and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds and to 100 mph in 10.6 seconds.

Bentley Continental GTC Speed may reach its top speed at 200 mph (322 km/h) with the roof up. While with the roof down, the top speed of Bentley Continental GTC Speed will be at 195 mph (312 km/h).

With the price starts at 146,100.00 pounds including VAT, Bentley Continental GTC Speed comes equipped with a six-speed transmission that has two fully automatic modes (Drive and Sport) and a clutchless manual mode.

Press Release

Since its debut in 2006, the Continental GTC has enjoyed sales success in over 50 countries across the globe, attracting younger buyers to the Bentley marque. Customers are attracted to its sleek design, interior craftsmanship, refined performance and agile handling.

Now, the introduction of the new GTC range builds on this success with a subtle evolution of its distinctive style and a range of technical and feature enhancements benefiting comfort and customer choice. The appeal of the GTC is further strengthened by the addition of the new 600bhp (610PS) GTC Speed model. It is Bentley’s most powerful convertible ever and inspired by Bentley’s legendary ‘Speed Models’ from the 1920s.

The new GTC models share a fresh frontal appearance. The radiator grille is more upright with a more pronounced square edge, accentuating the Bentley profile, and bolder lower air intake. These latest models are further distinguished by chrome headlamp bezels, the availability of two new exterior paints and a new color hide.

For the standard GTC, new low-friction dampers provide improved ride comfort. In addition, two significant new options may be specified on both GTC models: lightweight, fade-resistant, carbon-ceramic brakes, the largest production passenger car brakes in the world, and a sophisticated follow-to-stop Adaptive Cruise Control system with long-range radar sensor that monitors traffic ahead and manages throttle and brakes to maintain a driver-selected time gap.

The GTC’s chassis and exceptionally rigid steel body have proved more than capable of coping with the power of the 552bhp (560PS) 6-litre W12 engine. For the new Continental GTC Speed, Bentley’s twin-turbocharged W12 now develops 600bhp (610PS) that delivers true 200 mph (322 km/h) performance, with the roof up, with exhilarating, effortless acceleration. Even with the roof down the GTC Speed can reach 195 mph (312 km/h).

The Continental GTC Speed is visually distinguished by subtle design enhancements which emphasise its higher performance credentials. At the front, the radiator and lower air intake grilles feature a dark tinted matrix as standard. Larger diameter 9.5J x 20-inch, multi-spoke alloy wheels with Bentley-bespoke Pirelli PZero ultra-high performance (UHP) tyres, lowered and uprated suspension, wider twin-rifled exhaust tail pipes and a new boot-mounted lip spoiler that enhances high speed aerodynamics, reinforce the sporting character of the Speed model.

The GTC Speed’s 600bhp (610PS) W12 engine develops 9 per cent more power than the standard GTC. However, it is the 15 per cent increase in torque that really distinguishes the Speed model, which now develops an impressive output of 750 Nm (553lb ft). This is achieved across virtually the complete rev range, from just 1700 to 5600 rev/min, delivering that characteristic Bentley wave of torque.

The 0-60 mph sprint is despatched in a mere 4.5 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.8 seconds) and 0-100 mph in 10.6 seconds (0-160 km/h in 10.5 seconds).

The GT Speed coupe, which debuted in 2007, has become the top selling GT model across the globe. This was followed in summer 2008 by the 4-door Continental Flying Spur Speed. Now, the Speed family is completed with the introduction of the GTC Speed, which is expected to account for up to two-thirds of GTC sales worldwide in its first year of production.

Bentley Chairman and Chief Executive, Dr Franz-Josef Paefgen explains the rationale behind the GTC Speed:

“The Continental GTC is an elegant Grand Touring convertible in the Bentley tradition, exciting the emotions with its distinctive blend of performance, luxury, craftsmanship and modernity. The GTC Speed completes the family of Continental Speed models and broadens the appeal of the GTC to customers who demand a more focused, open-top driving experience.”

Enhanced powertrain delivers more power and torque

Both Continental GTC models are powered by Bentley’s 6-litre, twin-turbocharged W12 engine which is produced exclusively at the company’s Crewe engine plant. The Bentley W12 is the most compact 12-cylinder engine in production with 48 valves and 4 camshafts with continually variable valve timing. Power is transmitted via a ZF six-speed automatic transmission.

The new Continental GTC Speed is powered by Bentley’s W12 engine in its most powerful, 600 bhp (610PS) form. It develops 15 per cent more torque and 9 per cent more power than the 552bhp (560PS) standard GTC.

Engine efficiency improvements result from the use of lower friction, lighter-weight components and a new engine management system, while twin, low inertia turbochargers with minimal turbo lag contribute to the W12 engine’s flat torque curve. In 600 bhp (610PS) form, the W12 develops a maximum torque of 750 Nm (553 lb ft) from 1700 rev/min all the way up to 5600 rev/min. The GTC Speed engine is visually differentiated by the ‘crackle black’ finish to the intake manifold.

This endows the GTC Speed with a top speed of 200mph (322 km/h) with the roof-up and a 0-60mph sprint time of just 4.5 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.8 secs). It also accelerates from 0-100 mph in just 10.6 seconds (0-160 km/h in 10.5 seconds).

The six-speed transmission can be left in two fully automatic modes (Drive and Sport) or used as a clutchless manual where the driver can change gears sequentially, via either the gearlever or paddles mounted behind the steering wheel.

The advanced continuous all-wheel drive system of both GTC models provides exceptional traction in all weathers. The drive is transferred between the front and rear axles via a highly sensitive centre Torsen differential. If the differential detects a deviation in torque demand between the two axles it automatically sends more power to the wheels with greater grip.

Both the GTC and GTC Speed also feature an advanced electronic stability programme (ESP 8.1). The ‘Sport Traction’ mode for the GTC moderates ESP intervention at low speeds, benefiting driver interaction and control, particularly on low traction surfaces. The ‘Dynamic Mode’ of the GTC Speed allows increased wheel slip at higher speeds compared to the standard chassis. This ensures that torque is reinstated more quickly, allowing the driver to exploit the full potential of the engine.

Brian Gush, Director, Chassis and Powertrain Engineering, comments:

“The new GTC Speed exemplifies our passion for creating cars that deliver exceptional performance and driving enjoyment. It is a driver’s car which will redefine people’s expectations of what a luxury convertible can achieve.”

A luxury convertible with outstanding ride and handling

The Continental GTC’s steel body has an exceptionally rigid torsional stiffness of around 30Hz that not only minimises ‘scuttle shake’ but provides a very stable platform for the aluminium-intensive suspension system, optimising its performance. Despite the boost in power and torque for the GTC Speed model, no changes to the body structure were required.

For the 552bhp (560PS) GTC, new low-friction dampers provide improved secondary ride (the response of the car to poor road surfaces) and even greater levels of comfort.

The GTC Speed has a range of dynamic enhancements that deliver a more sporting, open-top Bentley driving experience. The retuned Continous Damping Control (CDC) system ensures that the body response matches the inputs from the new sports wheels and tyres, while improved body control reduces pitch and roll when cornering enthusiastically. In addition, stiffer rear axle bushes deliver better axle control and turn-in response.

The GTC Speed’s suspension is lowered by 10 mm at the front and 15 mm at the rear for improved handling, while the retuned speed-sensitive steering system and solid-mounted front subframe, shared with the standard GTC, benefit steering response.

The wider 9.5J x 20-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, unique to the GTC Speed, are fitted with bespoke 275/35 ZR20 Pirelli PZero ultra-high performance tyres that provide the car with superior grip as well as sharper steering response and feel.

To ensure optimum aerodynamic balance at speeds up to 200 mph (322 km/h) the new GTC Speed is fitted with a discreet spoiler on the trailing edge of the bootlid. This provides additional downforce and increases the top speed.

For both models, Bentley’s carbon-ceramic brakes (CCB) are offered as a cost option. Larger diameter (420 mm front, 356 mm rear), lightweight discs and eight-piston callipers offer fade-resistant braking performance with minimal disc distortion under high thermal conditions. A 20kg weight saving reduces unsprung mass and benefits steering response and handling. This braking system may only be specified with 20-inch diameter wheels and are the largest and most powerful brakes ever fitted to a production car.

The standard-fit tyre-pressure monitoring system (TPMS) allows drivers to select tyre type and speed range parameters. As well as monitoring pressures, the system warns drivers if their speed is too high for the tyre pressures or if tyre speed ratings are exceeded on winter tyres.

Commenting on the GTC Speed’s character, Dr. Ulrich Eichhorn, Member of the Board, Engineering, said:

“The GTC Speed offers supercar performance, superb refinement, comfort and unrivalled craftsmanship all in one car. It perfectly evokes the spirit of the original Bentley ‘Speed Model’ of the 1920s.”

Subtle evolution of the GTC’s distinctive style

Both the GTC and GTC Speed benefit from subtle revisions to their frontal appearance.

The matrix grille is now more vertical and has a more pronounced square edge that accentuates the distinctive Bentley profile. A new lower bumper design with a widened air intake reinforces the sporting stance of both GTC convertibles, complemented by new chrome headlamp bezels. The new design also provides a practical benefit by improving airflow to the more powerful Speed engine by 14 per cent.

The GTC Speed has a unique set of design cues, notably a dark-tinted matrix grille to the upper and lower air intakes, a black lower bumper valance, wider, rifled exhaust tailpipes and 20-inch, silver-painted, multi-spoke alloy wheels. The wheels are available as an option with a special dark tint finish.

GTC and GTC Speed customers have a choice of 17 ‘standard’ paint colours including two new colours (Aquamarine and Blue Crystal).

Luxurious hand-crafted cabin

The cabins of both GTC and GTC Speed are available with a choice of 6 natural, unbleached, laser-cut wood veneers and 17 premium grade leather hides, including the new option, Aquamarine.

The GTC Speed’s cabin is based on that of the Mulliner Driving Specification (a cost option on the standard GTC). It features diamond quilted hide seats with embroidered Bentley emblems, a knurled chrome and hide gearlever and a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel with brushed aluminium switch surround. These are complemented by drilled alloy foot-pedals and ‘Speed’ logos to the polished treadplates. The standard GTC also receives a new Bentley ‘B’ brake pedal.

A range of options give further opportunities for personalisation, including fascia panels, centre console, door pads and rear quarters in bright aluminium. Uniquely, the GTC Speed is also available with a dark tint aluminium option.

New adaptive cruise control system

A sophisticated follow-to-stop, radar-based Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system is now available on both GTC and GTC Speed. It uses a long-range radar sensor, mounted in the lower front grille, to monitor the road ahead for other vehicles. When a slower moving vehicle is detected, the system automatically adjusts the throttle or brakes to maintain a ‘time gap’, as selected by the driver.

For Aston Martin’s Chief Executive, Dr Ulrich Bez, revealing the One-77’s secrets is a proud moment: “Right from the very beginning of the project the vision for Aston Martin One-77 was very simple: It had to combine high-technology with hand-built craftsmanship, and demonstrate the unique capabilities and passion of our designers, engineers and technical partners.

“Quite simply it had to be the ultimate expression of Aston Martin. As you can now see, we have achieved that goal in magnificent style.”

Chris Porritt, Aston Martin One-77 Program Manager continued: “We wanted to create something that wows you as much when you see what’s under the skin as the exterior styling itself. We started by identifying the most technologically exciting front-engined, rear-wheel drive cars in the world: those from the DTM race series. We then applied the principles and technology that feature heavily in their design and translated it to a road car application.”

Consequently the One-77’s structural core is a lightweight and immensely rigid carbon fiber monocoque. Conceived and designed at Aston Martin’s Gaydon HQ, the monocoque, or ‘tub’, has been built in partnership with Multimatic (MTC). As world leaders in carbon composite technology, advanced vehicle analysis and dynamic simulation, MTC brings unrivalled specialist capabilities to the exacting challenge of the Aston Martin One-77 program.

Employing the classic formula of double wishbones at each corner, the One-77 features inboard suspension front and rear, with pushrods employed to transfer vertical suspension movements to the horizontally mounted spring/damper units. A practice taken directly from racing car design, the main advantages of inboard suspension are a reduction in unsprung weight and the ability to package the suspension components more effectively.

The dampers are fully adjustable and feature advanced Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve (DSSV) technology; a world-first for a road car application. These special valves are state-of-the-art even at the highest levels of motorsport, and use high-precision machined components to enable the shock-absorbing characteristics of the damper to be changed without having to remove them from the car, as is the norm.

Underlining the truly bespoke nature of the Aston Martin One-77, once delivered to its owner, the car’s suspension characteristics will be precisely set-up by Aston Martin engineers to suit their exact requirements, from settings suitable for the ultimate long-distance GT, to a machine capable of conquering the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

While functionality and efficiency are paramount in the design and construction of the Aston Martin One-77, so too is aesthetic beauty. To this end every single component has been crafted from the finest materials with absolute attention to detail. From the mesmerising weave of the glossy carbon fiber tub and the abstract, sculptural beauty of the dry sump’s oil reservoir, to the unerring precision of the billet machined aluminum suspension mounts, the One-77’s rolling chassis is an automotive masterpiece.

Of course the irony is that the vast majority of these exquisite components will be hidden from view in the finished car, yet each and every piece is a work of art in its own right. It’s this extraordinary workmanship and money-no-object commitment to quality that makes the Aston Martin One-77 unique.

Aston Martin One-77

Naturally, such a spectacular chassis demands – and gets – an equally exceptional drivetrain. It comes in the form of an immensely potent 7.3-litre, naturally aspirated V12 engine. Thanks to the adoption of a dry-sump oil system the engine is mounted 100mm lower than in any previous V12-engined Aston Martin road car, which helps keep the One-77’s center-of-gravity as low as possible. To further aid agility and endow the Aston Martin One-77 with progressive handling and stable, predictable on-limit behaviour, the engine is also mounted 257mm aft relative to the front wheel centerline. In so doing the front-mid-engined layout shared by all of Aston Martin’s current road car range has been taken to a new level.

The Aston Martin One-77’s magnificent power unit is an extreme evolution of the 6.0-litre V12 engines fitted to the DBS, DB9 and new V12 Vantage models. Like the collaboration with MTC for the build of the chassis, Aston Martin has chosen a world-leading partner with which to develop the motor: legendary engine builders, Cosworth. It has proved to be the perfect collaboration, as Chris Porritt explains.

“Our brief to the engine team was for them to take the 6.0-litre V12 as far as it could go, both in terms of output and weight reduction. The targets were a power output of no less than 700bhp with a 10 per cent reduction in engine mass. Incredibly, the Aston Martin and Cosworth engineers achieved a mass reduction of some 25 per cent, and although we’ve yet to complete the final engine calibration work, I’m confident we’ll see in excess of 700bhp. It’s an awesome accomplishment, but one that’s typical of the One-77 project, for it has consistently brought out the very best in everyone involved.”

Aston Martin One-77 Picture

Wearing Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires (255/35 ZR20 front, 335/30 ZR20 rear) developed specifically for the Aston Martin One-77, all 700+bhp is transmitted to the road through the rear wheels via a new six-speed gearbox. Controlled via column-mounted paddles behind the steering wheel, this robotised sequential manual is a new generation of Aston Martin’s familiar transmission. Though it is made specifically for the One-77 and features specially strengthened internals to cope with the tremendous power and torque, the lessons learned in its development will ultimately find their way into the company’s series production models.

It’s a mark of the inherent capabilities of Aston Martin’s acclaimed lightweight Carbon Ceramic Matrix brake technology that it has been used as the basis for the Aston Martin One-77’s braking system. The internals of the callipers have been re-engineered to transmit less heat from the brake pads into the brake fluid, while the discs themselves have been developed to ensure the maximum possible contact area between the face of the disc and the brake pads for improved stopping power. Due to the Aston Martin One-77’s increased performance, special attention has also been paid to brake cooling, as the brakes have less time to cool between bursts of acceleration.

With a projected weight of 1,500kg the Aston Martin One-77 will occupy the very highest echelons of road car performance. Top speed is confidently predicted to be in excess of 200mph, with a 0-60mph time in approximately 3.5sec. Perhaps more importantly, thanks to the purity of a front-engined, rear-drive layout, the responsiveness and immense tractability of a naturally aspirated V12 and the low mass, high-rigidity properties of a carbon fiber chassis, the One-77 promises a driving experience of unrivalled intensity and excitement while representing the world’s most desirable automotive art form.

Aston Martin One-77

Last month Aston Martin showcased a technical illustration of the One-77 at the Geneva Auto Salon, revealing the technical intricacies and engineering excellence that will exist beneath the One-77’s handmade body. Since then, the technical illustration has undergone painstaking handcraftsmanship to be developed into a complete car.

Aston Martin Chief Executive, Dr Ulrich Bez said: “The One-77 demonstrates the unique capabilities of our company – it encompasses engineering excellence with a great passion from our engineers, designers and technical partners.

”This is a major step in One-77’s engineering program, showing the first complete car, and will demonstrate new benchmarks in many different fields of automotive design.

“The craftsmanship and design that has gone into the creation of the Aston Martin One-77 lifts automotive engineering into the realm of art. With its finely sculpted forms and sleek lines, it is an expression of unparalleled beauty that embodies everything Aston Martin stands for.”

Press Release

ASTON MARTIN RAPIDE: THE WORLD’S MOST ELEGANT FOUR-DOOR SPORTS CAR

The Aston Martin Rapide has moved into the final stages of its development program, on course for a public debut in late 2009, with the first customer cars due to be delivered in early 2010.

First revealed as the Aston Martin Rapide Concept at the Detroit Auto Show in 2006, the Aston Martin Rapide is one of the most eagerly awaited cars of the year. As Aston Martin’s first true four-door production sports car, the Aston Martin Rapide encapsulates the core values of the brand within an elegant, high-powered sports grand tourer, with four full-sized seats, generous accommodation and luggage space and trademark Aston Martin performance.

Aston Martin Chief Executive, Dr. Ulrich Bez said: “The Aston Martin Rapide will be the most elegant four-door sports car in the world.

It completes the Aston Martin range conveying our established attributes of Power, Beauty and Soul.

“In 2010 there will be an Aston Martin for every type of sports car customer regardless of the demands of their lifestyle. The Aston Martin Rapide is the most versatile, bringing a new benchmark of luxury and refinement to both driver and passenger.”

The concept received worldwide acclaim for its design as well as strong expressions of interest from customers. Following the purchase of Aston Martin in June 2007, the production version of the Aston Martin Rapide was approved and development began in earnest. Underpinned by Aston Martin’s VH (Vertical/Horizontal) extruded aluminum architecture, the Aston Martin Rapide retains the elegant, flowing proportions that are integral to every Aston Martin and remains remarkably faithful to the original design study.

The cohesive design language and elegant form of the Rapide ensure it is a perfect complement to the other cars in Aston Martin’s line-up. From the outset, the Rapide was designed with no aesthetic compromise. “We wanted to make the most beautiful four-door sports car in the world,” Aston Martin’s Director of Design Marek Reichman stated when the concept was first shown.

The signature elements of Aston Martin’s design language translate seamlessly to the four-door format, with key features such as the ‘swan wing’ doors – rising upwards and outwards as they swing open – facilitating access to the two beautifully trimmed individual rear seats. The bodywork flows effortlessly from front to rear, where a kicked up tail and strong rear shoulders wrap around the wheel arches to create the classic Aston Martin silhouette, enveloping the additional doors, seats for children or two adults on shorter journeys and functional luggage capacity.

Described by Reichman as a lithe ‘long distance runner’, compared to the sprinter-like poise of the V8 Vantage and the muscularity of the DBS, the Aston Martin Rapide’s lines are a master class in maintaining purity of proportion and vision. Detail design is crucial, with Aston Martin’s iconic side strake extended to run through the front doors before blending into the rear door, lending a sense of dynamic thrust to the Rapide’s stance.

The Aston Martin Rapide has been subjected to Aston Martin’s rigorous testing program including extreme climate testing and dynamic performance trials at the company’s new Nürburgring Test Center to ensure it will display the brand’s integral high speed abilities. The last stages of endurance testing are now underway with final sign-off expected later this year before a production car is debuted in September.

The Rapide will offer performance purity and the same level of sporting ability as all modern Aston Martins. Powered by a version of Aston Martin’s 6.0 liter V12 engine producing 470bhp and 600Nm of torque and, hand built at the company’s engine facility in Cologne, the Aston Martin Rapide’s rear wheels are driven through a highly responsive Touchtronic gearbox. Performance figures have yet to be revealed, although early indications are that the Rapide will offer class-leading performance and dynamics, alongside new levels of refinement and luxury.

The Aston Martin Rapide will be built at a new production facility in Graz, Austria managed by the acclaimed vehicle manufacturer Magna Steyr and co-ordinated by a fully integrated Aston Martin team from the UK. The new production facility is closely modelled on the Gaydon factory and will combine a sophisticated modern production line with the Aston Martin traditional hand-finishing skills, a proud blend of craft processes and attention to detail. The interior will further develop Aston Martin’s skilful use of genuine high quality materials, applied appropriately and effectively to ensure that form always follows function.

“Rapide will exceed expectations to deliver elegance and practicality in a form that will allow driving enjoyment and comfort beyond anything that exists today,” says Dr Ulrich Bez, “The Rapide will exist in a class all of its own, a true Aston Martin with the high performance and dynamic excellence that defines the brand, and a luxurious sporting grand tourer without equal.”

Powered by a 1750 cc turbocharged petrol engine, Alfa Romeo 159 1750 TBi may develops 200 hp between 4,750 and 5,500 rpm and 320 Nm of torque at 1,400 rpm.

Alfa Romeo 159 1750 TBi may reach its top speed at 235 km/h and a 0 to 100 km/h sprint time of 7.7 seconds.

Alfa Romeo has promises that the Alfa Romeo 159 1750 TBi will be real driver’s car with genuine sports performance and muscular acceleration while equipped with 6-speed manual gearbox.

Press Release

The Alfa Romeo 159 is certainly no exception. Starting from April 2009, the new 159 will be available with a brand new engine: a 1750 cc turbocharged petrol engine that conforms to Euro 5 standards and develops 200 HP between 4,750 and 5,500 rpm with 320 Nm of torque at only 1,400 rpm.

The new 1750 cc turbo petrol engine (manufactured by FPT - Fiat Powertrain Technologies) comes combined with a six speed manual gearbox and boasts advanced ignition control solutions including direct fuel injection, two continuously variable valve timing units, a turbocharger and a revolutionary scavenging control system. The resulting performance is comparable to – or better than – that of many 3 liter engines while still delivering fuel consumption typical of a compact four cylinder unit.

The force behind the development of any Alfa Romeo engine is the company’s determination to use technology to enhance driving pleasure. This certainly applies to the development of the new, Euro 5, “1750 Turbo Benzina 200 CV” unit destined immediately for the Alfa Romeo 159 and later on for the Alfa Romeo Brera, Spider and 159 Sportwagon.

This engine takes the Alfa Romeo 159, with its refined Italian styling and typical sporting elegance to an impressive top speed of 235 km/h and accelerates it from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.7 seconds. The 200 HP Alfa Romeo 159 1750 TBi is therefore a true representative of Alfa’s exclusive motoring lifestyle. Far from being a mere ‘means of transport’, the new 159 is a real driver’s car.

It delivers genuine sports performance and muscular acceleration thanks to generous torque and smooth response even at low revs and the extended power band of a modern, advanced petrol engine that minimizes the need for you to ‘work’ the gearbox. The engine sound too is inspiring without ever becoming tiresome.

Toyota Prius Comes with Solar Panels

If you were wondering what is happening in the league of luxury sedans, you must actually hear about Toyota Prius. Surprisingly, it has been fitted with a solar power roof which would help save energy and save environment. This is very important in times of global warming when most of the pollution is caused by cars and emissions.

All you would need to do is spend 1,450 Pounds and you could convert your Toyota Prius into a solar powered efficient car that would not only look good but would also be an environment saver. I would say, it would have bee only good if all the luxury cars come with solar panels on the top of their roofs.

Bulgaria Energy Holding Has Bought 77 Luxury Cars in 2009

Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) has bought 77 luxury cars since the beginning of 2009.

The BEH defended the purchases, saying the contract was announced on their website in April and that the cars were necessary for the subsidiaries of the company.
Three companies gave documents to the BEH to take part in the open process for the supply of the cars, including Industrial Commerce and Porsche-Bulgaria. The 77 cars were all Hyundai, Volkswagen or Iveko and had an average price of BGN 60 000, bought on 5 year leasing deals.
Bulgaria's Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, announced Friday morning that his government was going to shut down BEH which was formed as a mega energy structure by the Socialist government in 2008, uniting all major state-owned energy companies.

Future Cars

Jaguar has been the 98-pound weakling of the luxury market lately, but not for lack of substance in its products. The brand has rocketed up the initial quality ratings (of course, when you're coming from near rock-bottom, there's nowhere else to go) over the past few years and a recent German poll ranked it as one of the highest-quality luxury marques. But the fickle luxury market decided that Jaguar's retro-themed styling was simply too stodgy and old-school next to the other swoopy European and Japanese luxury models. The new XK was first to cautiously morph into a more contemporary style. But come '08, the new S-Type will completely obliterate the tweed jacket, stiff-upper-lip image anyone might still have of Jaguar.I admit it: this is a seriously bold, eye-catching design. Controversial? Absolutely, but so were the newest BMW 7-series and the Chrysler 300 when first introduced. Both have proven to be major hits. And the new S-Type may be Jaguar’s biggest bat yet. Although the marque has traditionally had limited appeal with the hip-hop, celebrity, and pro-athlete segment, the S-Type’s in-your-face styling just might be just the ticket to get into more rap videos and celebrity mags. Like it or not, this demographic has definite make-it-or-break-it power for status symbols, be they cars, clothing, jewelry or other assorted accoutrements of the luxury lifestyle. The revitalized Mini has proven that British cars still have an undeniable chic factor about them, even if their guts come from all corners of the globe. The base engine on the new S-Type is rumored to be based on a Volvo design. Do you think anyone will care? If it has attractive styling, strong performance, all the expected bells-and-whistles, and is priced relatively competitively with the usual German suspects, it won't fail for lack of equipment. Hopefully this swoopy new model will generate the buzz Jaguar hopes it will to bring it back into the public eye.

uxury car sedans

Well-off people normally have more than one car. They have cars for work and they have cars for special occasions. The special occasion cars are usually luxury cars that cost several times as much as a regular sedan. The question is should you be buying luxury cars at all?
Some people prefer luxury cars over a sedan. And there are simply too many cars in the market claiming to be one even if they are short on certain features. So before you fall for these claims hook, line, and sinker, it is best that you know what a luxury vehicle really is and what is not.

Leather seats and an exceptional stereo system don't make a car a luxury vehicle. Keep in mind that luxury cars are not built overnight. More than the make and model of the car, these vehicles require years of planning and design. And so the companies that are worthy to release luxury cars are only those who have been in the automotive industry for a long time. It would be an added plus it they have already proven their worth in that particular line.
Lexus cars and Rolls and Royce are good examples of luxury cars. But before you go ahead and purchase these vehicles, you've got to ask yourself if you can afford it. If you can't, would you settle for a second-hand? Luxury car manufacturers imply that if you're asking for the price of a luxury vehicle prior to buying it, chances are, you can't afford it. So unless you can go up to a million on one luxury car, it is not worth asking whether or not you should buy one or not.

Why do you have to buy a luxury car in the first place? This is the most important question of all. Would like to buy one because you want to look better off among your friends and colleagues? Would you like to impress somebody? Or do you simply like to own one, park it around the house, and pull it off the garage whenever you want to arrive in style at some place? While these are all good reasons to buy luxury cars, they are not sufficient enough to justify the price of these vehicles. Even if you're buying a second-hand, it is still advisable that you go for a brand new sedan that performs better than a run-down BMW.

What you’re looking at could be the 2056 Alfa Brera with the optional hover package.Called the Alfa Romeo Spix flying concept car, it was designed by a 2-D/3-D artist from Belgium (we think) who posted pics of his creation along with an absolutely stunning video on CGfolks.com. Can you believe he does this for fun? (Actually, it appears he’s begun a small design firm, but we can’t confirm that due to the language barrier.) Known as Creatix on the CGFolks forum, the artist explains his attempt to fuse an impression of power and robustness in a design that reflects what Alfa Romeos might look like in 50 years. The concept is very creative and just goes to show how much untapped creative talent is out there. We’re just saying, an automaker could do worse than having someone like Creatix on the payroll.

Acura GSX hopes to shuttle the elite passengers of Virgin Galactic

Zero-emission car gets powered by dual hydrogen fuel cells

Futuristic Virgin Galactic astronauts wouldn’t be normally shuttled to the company’s spaceport in the Mojave Desert, and while Virgin Galactic is working on the most important technologies, industrial designers have taken up the task to design a luxurious means to shuttle the elite class to the spaceport. The Acura GSX by Jeremy Burgess is one such concept vehicle that has specifically been designed for the task.

The vehicle is designed for the year 2025, when space travel won’t be as uncommon as it is today. The interior of the car features seating for three, with a single seat up front for the driver and two rear seats for the astronauts. The vehicle will offer an unmatched luxurious ride for the astronauts from Los Angeles to the spaceport in the Mojave Desert.

The Acura GSX is designed to be powered by a fuel cell platform similar to Honda’s FCX platform. The green vehicle will be powered by a hydrogen dual fuel cells configuration and each wheel will house an electric motor that features adaptive computer assisted suspension to compensate the increase in weight of the wheels.
